Which Machine Will You Actually Use?
The best cardio machine is the one you will use often enough to meet weekly activity targets. Start with your joints, available floor space, noise limits, and preferred workout style before comparing calorie estimates or screen features.
Treadmills
Running burns more calories per hour than any other modality. A 170-lb person at 6 mph burns ~680 cal/hr (ACE). But treadmills are expensive to buy, maintain, and operate.

Rowers
Rowing is a low-impact, full-body pattern that trains legs, hips, trunk, back, and arms in one stroke sequence. It is the strongest pick here when you want conditioning plus broad muscle involvement without treadmill impact.

Bikes
Quietest, most compact, most joint-friendly. Tradeoff: lower calorie burn, primarily lower body.
